Bryn Brooke Manor, our grand house on the hill in Cooperstown, NY. As the birthplace and headquarters of Savor New York, Bryn Brooke Manor has welcomed a fascinating array of guests for over a decade, including baseball players and fans, opera fanciers, members of the wedding, and folks who just like the unique Upstate charm and beauty of Cooperstown, NY. Please visit the Bryn Brooke website for details, including when we’re open, our rooms, your New York breakfast, and our famous List of Rules. Encountering so many people in the graceful surroundings of our restored “summer cottage” on the hill is an illuminating experience; renovating a rambling shingle-style Victorian provides an unparalleled education. We continue to do both, and we look forward to welcoming you to Bryn Brooke. -John, Brenda, and Elizabeth Berstler
What’s in a name? The origin of the name “Bryn Brooke Manor”: - “Bryn” is the Welsh word for “hill”; it is also a Gaelic diminutive of the name “Brenda”.
- “Brooke” is Elizabeth’s middle name.
- “Manor” because our grand home reminds us of an English manor house, and Cooperstown founder William Cooper’s first home was called “The Manor.”
