Unbelievable! These are the best chips we've ever tried (and we've done our homework!)
Delicious, satisfying, and a great New York story! Potato chips were invented in response to a disgruntled diner at the Moon Lodge in Saratoga Springs, NY, in 1853. Chef George Crum grew irritated by a customer’s repeated complaint that his fried potatoes were cut too thickly. His response was to slice the spuds paper thin and throw them in boiling oil. He showered them with a bit of salt and presented them. The complaining diner was now delighted and snack history was made.
“Saratoga Chips” became a staple of the Moon Lodge, and shortly after Chef Crum left the hotel to sell his creation. Saratoga Specialties has re-introduced his recipe and recreated the original packaging for all to enjoy the original "Saratoga Chip."
Kettle-cooked, just like the originals, and only lightly salted to enhance the great potato taste!
