An early example of Norman Rockwell's cover art, this American Boy cover dates from December 1920, just four years after Mr. Rockwell began illustrating periodicals. Adding to the cover's authenticity is the stamp from the James R. Miller Company of Watertown, NY, offering a free six month subscription to American Boy with every $10 spent in their boys' department. Ned matted this one in spruce green and winter white, and framed it in New York red oak.
