A handsome dalmation gazes at the Mobilgas "Flying Red Horse," (ala Pegasus,) while his shorter white companion gazes up at him. Mobilgas was based in California, but they featured a New York vehicle for this 1940 Life magazine ad. Click on "image gallery" and then double click on the image for a close up of the license plate!
